Musical Portaits features selected photographs of artists and musicians that i captured at concert shows and bar performances during a 10-years period from 2009-2019 (then pandemic came).
I will always remember nights at Sani Hill, Moni Lazariston, Mylos Club, Principal Club, Bar Flou, Duende Jazz Bar, etc.
So i tried to express in these portraits, both the intensity and emotional expressiveness of the artist through their music and songs.
With a deep love for music and photography, i decided to display the visual results in this small exhibition.

Curriculum vitae
Born in Thessaloniki in 1946, I first became involved with photography as a student at the Veterinary School of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, while using a Kodak Instamatic. Different times with many concerns and interests and with minimal photographic equipment.
Later on, and after my appointment at the Veterinary School of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (Laboratory of Ecology and Environmental Protection), I was actively involved in developing and printing black and white photographs inside the magic darkroom. Since then, I have been exploring analogue photography, always as an amateur, and later on the digital. My subjects are natural environment, landscapes, with a focus on people. My love of travel and music helped me in getting there. We have travelled in many countries of the world, observing both the landscapes as well as the people’s life (daily life, traditions etc.). At the same time our love for music (jazz, soul, rock etc.) leads us to clubs, bars and concert venues where the artists’ intensity and expressiveness provide ideal subjects for my photographic view.
In 2015, I debuted my first full-length project at De facto café-bar entitled “Chapels of Anafi island”, printed on canvas.
From our travels to Latin America and Asia, I have exhibited in 2017, at Duende jazz bar a series of portraits entitled “Portraits of the World”.
In 2022, I displayed a series of 25 portraits of musical artists and performers, first presented at the café-bar De facto. The portraits are black and white, printed on aluminum foils and are currently on display (summer 2023), at Porto Valitsa in Paliouri, Halkidiki.
